Seven Layer Salad
Seven layer salad is a classic dish that has been at many of our family get-togethers. Oh, and the flavor is to die for. This recipe is so simple, but it works. Its a large salad, so great for bringing to social events. If you are looking for another cold dish to try, check out my Buffalo Chicken Pasta Salad.

A Salad with a Colorful Presentation
This salad is put together in….you guessed it….layers. In a clear bowl this makes for a wonderful colorful presentation. I do not currently have a clear bowl large enough for this awesome salad, but I made a small sample bowl just to show you what I mean. Excuse the imperfection in my layers in the sample bowl. The idea to take the photo was a bit late into the process.

Uncle Dan’s Ranch
In this recipe, I specify Uncle Dan’s Ranch. This is the BEST ranch packet hands down. Uncle Dan’s ranch is made here in Idaho, right near my house! (Sure, Hidden Valley Ranch packets are what the original recipe given to my mom from my Aunt Jan calls for….but……Uncle Dan’s Ranch was not an option back then.) Uncle Dan’s can be shipped, and trust me, you will want to stock up. Check out there amazing online store here!! Let me just say, you can see I am so passionate about Uncle Dan’s Ranch—and I am not even paid nor compensated to promote them! Because I love them, and only because….I give them my red lipped kiss of approval! (Figured that I had to get that disclaimer out of the way!)
The recipe calls for bacon bits, but I did not have any, so I used regular bacon, chopped. It works great. The great thing about this recipe is that it gives you substitutions. For example, bell pepper OR green onions…cucumbers OR zucchini.
