Patriotic Candle Craft

Memorial Day and 4th of July are peak times for Americans to be patriotic. The flags come out, the picnics, the red white and blue adorns homes and people alike!

This craft took me a total of about ten minutes and I had everything on hand to make it.

You Will Need

  • 1 Mason Jar
  • Rice
  • 3 Ziploc Bags
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring

Fill your jar with rice, then divide that rice into 3 different Ziploc bags. In one bag, add about 5 drops of red food coloring. Massage the bag of rice until the color is evenly distributed. Pour the red rice into the bottom of the jar.

Pour the white rice next.

Now, add five drops of blue food coloring to the last bag of rice. Massage it in really well, just like you did with the red. Now pour that in.

Add a small candles to it. I got a 4 pack of candles at the Dollar Tree for $1.

Note: Next time I will do this I will tap the jar on a counter after each layer to create even lines.
